Soap Star

Soap on demand, minus the drama.

By Adam Eliot Segal
Gone are the days of crusty old bars of Irish Spring clinging to the sink: The sensor soap pump from simplehuman (simplehuman.com) dispenses liquid soap at the swipe of a hand thanks to infrared sensors. The LED timer blinks for 20 seconds (try singing “Happy Birthday” twice through to achieve the recommended time for scrubbing yourself germ-free), and four settings let you choose how much soap to distribute. Finally, an excuse to scream, “Look Ma, no hands!”
